 Kandy is a city in the hills of Sri Lanka. It is Known for its temple, its lake and its peaceful atmosphere.  I visited Kandy as a student and the experience stayed with me longer than I expected. When I first arrived, I did not have many expectations. I thought I would visit the main sights and then leave, but Kandy offered something more. The city is Surrounded by green hills and its center there's a beautiful lake. The environment feels so calm and refreshing. One morning I walked to the lake before the day become warm. The air was fresh and the water was still. A few local people were sitting quietly, offering flowers.  No one was in a rush for the first time in a long while. I felt completely present. Later, I visited the Temple of the Scared Tooth Relic. I removed my shoes and walked inside. The atmosphere was silent and respectful.
